Audra Dobbs
Miss Rodeo Colorado
On June 28, 2008, Audra Dobbs, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado was announced as Miss Rodeo Colorado 2009 at the Greeley Stampede. Audra will be officially crowned in January of 2009 as the 54th Miss Rodeo Colorado at the Denver National Western Stock Show.
As a representative of the Centennial State and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Audra will spend a year traveling to various rodeos and western celebrations throughout the United States.
The 24 year old daughter of Ann Martin, of Glenwood Springs, graduated as Valedictorian from Glenwood Springs High School in 2002. Audra went on to attend Mesa State College, where she graduated with honors, in obtaining a Bachelors of Arts with an Elementary Education endorsement. During her four years at Mesa State College, she served as a “Mesa State College Ambassador”. Audra is currently a first grade teacher and Reading Recovery Specialist in Grand Junction, Colorado. She has plans to pursue a Master’s in Education Administration with plans to become a school administrator.
As a proud Colorado cowgirl and fifth generation horse woman, Audra began riding as soon as she could sit on a horse. She grew up competing in 4-H, horse shows and rodeos. This gave Audra her passionate appreciation and love for the greatest sport on earth - rodeo! As Colorado’s first lady of rodeo, Audra will devote this year to promoting and educating others about Colorado and the rich western heritage.
Her hobbies include pleasure riding, barrel racing, dancing, target shooting, traveling, reading, snowmobiling, boating and teaching children.
In December of 2009, she’ll join the nation’s best cowboys and cowgirls in Las Vegas, Nevada for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, where she’ll proudly represent Colorado in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant.
